The crunch, texture and taste of sourdough croutons is an excellent addition to any soup or salad. They’re a great way to use up stale or leftover bread that may be headed to the trash, and once you taste these, you’ll never buy store-bought again.
It just takes a few simple ingredients
Leftover or stale sourdough bread
Olive Oil
Parmesan Cheese (powdered)
Spices of choice (dill, Italian seasoning, all purpose, etc)
Can I use regular bread?
Yes! Leftover hotdog buns, regular buns, french loaf, you name it. Any leftover bread will work, even if its stale. The taste and texture of sourdough creates a unique crouton, however traditional bread also works great.
Its always a good idea to reduce waste in your kitchen, and sourdough going to waste is a shame.
Homemade sourdough croutons not only taste better, but they're customizable for any soup or salad you may be planning.
